PROJECT RESOUND COLOMBIA
This project is in the planning phase. Details will be announced ASAP.
PROJECT RESOUND CHALLENGE: SAVANNAH
This concentrated, energizing, fast-paced collaboration is focused on using design thinking for the greater good. Working together and with a small team of other creatives, participants are challenged to prototype a solution to a problem in 48 hours, about the same amount of time it takes to binge watch a TV series. Working at an accelerated rate, with little or no time to question “what’s right,” participants can react freely and spontaneously to the things in their immediate surroundings, often leading to interesting and unexpected results.
Groups of participants will remain small (4-6 people)
We will enjoy Savannah, a city known for low-country landscapes, well-preserved architecture, delicious cuisine, and for being home to a cast of interesting characters. It’s the perfect setting for a Challenge!
Cost: $499 includes the project fee, lodging (shared accommodation), breakfast and workspace. Participants are responsible for transportation, lunch, dinner, and other costs. (Private lodging is available, please inquire.)

PROJECT RESOUND GREECE (Week 2)
On-Ground Project $1500 / Virtual Project $350
In June and July of 2021 Project Resound will offer an intensive social design project on the beautiful island of Poros and Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. If you want to inform and inspire experience design, brand and strategy, and make a positive difference in the lives of others this is for you!
Our partners include Echo and Ecologists Without Borders.
Echo is a consortium of three entities (Katheti, Live-Bio and Odyssey). Its aim is to promote sustainable tourism in the areas of Poros, Troizinia and Methana.
Ecologists Without Borders is made up of exceptional individuals who volunteer their time and expertise to restore, protect, and conserve natural ecosystems, in worldwide partnership with those who rely upon them.
We want you on our team as we take on this challenge! Together we’ll conduct research, ideate concepts, prototype solutions and publish the results. The project will take us through ancient archeological sites, mountainous terrain with spectacular views, verdant pine forests, idyllic beaches and towns with colorful neoclassical buildings.
Conducting research and creating rapid solutions in the field can be stressful and at the same time fulfilling and rewarding. You'll experience and contribute to Project Resound’s systematic approach in team building up so that it will achieve success, generate inspired insights, and ensure high quality solutions.
Project Resound Founder, Louis Baker, (“Baker”) leads the event. Mornings include immersive experiences and focused sessions; afternoons include team activities—evenings are a time of fellowship and fun as we experience the beauty and rich cultural heritage of the area.
We've booked a beautiful location that includes well-appointed studios, a common work space and pool deck with stunning views of the Aegean sea. It is surrounded by olive groves on rolling hills, lovely beaches and a charming village within walking distance. See our Greece Travel Guide.
BACKGROUND: Baker fell in love with Greece while backpacking through Europe during the summer of 1988. Since then, He has visited the country on multiple occasions, where he gained friends and whet his appetite for a social design project to serve the area.
In this unique, lightly populated region, tourism shapes the communities that it touches in both positive and negative ways. Tourism is incredibly important to Greece as it accounts for roughly one-fifth of its economy and more than 25% of jobs. Our objective is to prototype models that are sustainable for locals and respectful to this unique part of the world.
Sustainable tourism is a way of traveling and exploring a destination while respecting its culture, environment, and people. The economic benefits are great as sustainable tourists tend to stay 7 days or longer in a destination and spend 51% more than other tourists. Also, they are more likely to visit destinations and make purchases from travel companies based on their sustainable practices.
During this project we will explore opportunities in the following areas to promote sustainable tourism in the southern Peloponnese coast of Greece.
Ecotourism
Agrotourism
Gastro-tourism
Cultural tourism
Experiential Tourism
Educational tourism
OBJECTIVES: Our primary objectives:
Meaningfully engage locals in the process of co-creation.
Build appropriate, sustainable tourism models that benefit all stakeholders. In addition we will create a public art project that sends a positive message.
Publish a case study of prototypes and related assets to encourage sustainable and culturally appropriate tourism to the region.
ROLES: Each week-long project has the capacity for 16 participants. Each will be assigned a role and responsibilities in line with their skills and how they want to grow.
We are looking for professionals and students with skills in business strategy, marketing, project management, writing, sound design, graphic design, advertising, service design, photography, illustration, sequential art, film & TV, motion media, interactive design, UX, industrial design, fashion design, interior design, architecture, and the fine arts.
Although specific roles will be assigned, everyone is expected to support each other in the running of the project.
Our Team Leads are professionals in cross-cultural social design, and as such participants will be exposed to field methods for cultural immersion, team building, contextual research, analysis, systems and design thinking, rapid ideation, and prototyping in order to create unique solutions to real-world problems.
